COVID-19 health documents pre-check for international travel

Check that you've met all COVID-19 health requirements for your journey before you travel and make check-in easier.

Complete the form below and send us your international vaccination certificate and negative COVID-19 test. If you are travelling to the United States, we recommend that you send us your completed US CDC Traveller Attestation Form. We can confirm you have the correct documentation in advance, saving you time and helping you get through check-in faster.

Important information

Passengers flying to Australia and New Zealand do not need to use this process and should instead complete the Digital Passenger Declaration for travel to Australia, or the New Zealand Traveller Declaration for flights to New Zealand.

How it works

  • Research travel health requirements. Check which vaccination certificate and COVID-19 test you need for your journey. Please note that some destinations may require testing and proof of vaccination for younger travellers.
  • Pre-departure test requirements and testing timeframes will depend on your transit points and destination, so please make sure you know which test you need to obtain and when.
  • Complete a US CDC Traveller Attestation Form if you are travelling to the United States.
  • Use the form below to submit the documents for you and anyone else on your booking as soon as you have them and no later than 6 hours before your flight.
  • We'll review your documents, and you can expect to hear from us at least 4 hours before your flight departs. Please note that our pre-check team work from 6am-11.59pm NZT. If you're flying within the next 6 hours, you may not hear from us, so we'll need to review your documents at check-in.
  • At the airport our staff will complete your check in process. We strongly recommend keeping printed copies of all your documentation including travel insurance with you throughout your travels.

Submit your documentation

If you're flying within the next 6 hours, please print out and bring all your travel documentation with you to the airport for our check-in team to review. Please allow more time at the airport for check-in.

Please note: Each document file size must be less than 10MB. The maximum total file size must be less than 30MB. If you receive an error message, please either reduce the size of the file, or submit an additional form for each passenger.

If you have more than one passenger on your booking, you can submit each passenger's files separately. Each form submission you complete for a booking will be combined and processed together.

Ensuring your privacy

Your COVID-19 health documentation will be held securely and will only be used for confirming your eligibility for travel. Air New Zealand will keep the health documentation for a short period after you have flown for audit purposes. The US CDC requires us to store the US CDC Traveller Attestation Form securely for 2 years from the date of travel. However we will not link these documents with any other information we may hold about you and we will not use them for any other purpose. Please see our privacy policy for more information about how Air New Zealand manages the information we hold about you.
